is bluetooth in your car a distraction?

This article seems to suggest it.  I tend to think HFL is less of a distraction, and better for keeping your eyes on the road when you recieve a call.  Now, fiddling with my iPod or watching a DVD while driving, yes, those might be distractions.

Please don't get alarmed about BT viruses

This is exactly the type of thing that will get hyped beyond belief:  Mobile virus infects Lexus cars [via SC Magazine] which tells the tale of a security firm who either was able to infect or found Landcruisers infected with viruses that most likely got inside via the Bluetooth connection.

The potential is definitely there for something like this to occur, especially if cars move to the Windows CE OS, but I wouldn't stop using your Bluetooth phone with your car just yet. It does show that manufacturers have to worry about these sorts of things on a going forward basis.

Don't let this scare you, please.

Anyone else try out the V600 with the Prius? It interesting it works well with the Prius and not the Acura TL.
